Gem & Jewellery Education at Jewellery Arabia 2016 – GIA to Host Complimentary Visitor Seminars

The GIA (Gemological Institute of America), a world leader in gem and jewellery education, will conduct complimentary seminars during Jewellery Arabia 2016 from 22 – 26 November 2016 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. GIA representatives will also be available in Meeting Room D, Hall 1 to discuss the Institute’s education opportunities and laboratory services.

GIA experts will offer attendees – ranging from the trade to consumers and connoisseurs – insights into the  different aspects of gems and jewellery through daily free to attend 45 minute seminars. As the creator of the famous 4Cs of diamond quality and the 7 Pearl Value FactorsTM, GIA is considered the world’s foremost authority in gemology. Seminar topics include diamond colour on the D-to-Z scale, fluorescence in diamonds, pearl history and its value factors, synthetic diamonds and ruby sources.

“GIA has been the education and laboratory provider for visitors of Jewellery Arabia since 2012,” said Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA in India and Middle East. “This exhibition provides a great platform to spread awareness about gemological education.”

GIA conducts regular courses in major trade centres throughout the Gulf region including Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. The Institute’s courses focus on diamonds, coloured stones, pearls, jewellery design, retail and more. GIA’s intake station in Dubai offers grading services for diamonds, coloured stones and pearls to consumers and members of the trade across the Middle East.
