A record number of paper submissions have been received for the 10th Middle East Refining & Petrochemicals Conference and Exhibition (Middle East Petrotech 2016) taking place from 26–29 September 2016 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Plans for a content-rich 4 day conference are underway as the leading downstream event in the Middle East region celebrates its 10th edition. Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister of Bahrain Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the event is organised by a committee of industry experts chaired by KPC and Saudi Aramco and Arabian Exhibition Management .
The conference committee received 340 submissions from 111 organisations and 24 countries, marking an increase of 70% on the previous edition of Petrotech in 2014. 63 papers have been selected by the committee to present during 21 technical sessions covering topics on operational excellence, reliability & integrity, project challenges, energy management, HSE, smart plants, market intelligence, catalyst management and people advancement.
A key highlight of the conference programme, the executive plenary session, will involve leading industry figures discussing the theme “Economic Downturn and Its Effect on the Oil Downstream Industry”. Petrotech 2016 also offers 3 plenary sessions and 10 panel sessions discussing important matters relevant to today’s industry.
An enriching programme of pre-conference events including short courses and workshops are scheduled to take place on 25 and 26 September.
A three-day exhibition of oil and gas products and services will run parallel to the conference from 27 – 29 September. Set to feature over 100 exhibitors from 20 countries, the exhibition covers all areas of the downstream industry.
